The Return

calgary-get-1

Wow… So it’s been a week since my last post… Yeah I didn’t mean for that to happen, but after getting back from the Calgary Expo on Monday I not only started working a new full time job, but I also got a very funtastic stomach flu… Yeah that was a fun couple days.

The Expo was pretty fun, managed to get a couple hours in walking around the floor looking at all the stuff that I wanted to buy. I managed to find a bit of stuff that didn’t completely kill my wallet. Unfortunatly in all my wandering I only managed to take like two pictures of the show floor, although there was a lot of really bad ass cosplay, like the 6’13” Master Chief and DeadMau5 ¬†Pool. Also got a quick glimpse of C3-P0’s actor,¬†Anthony Daniels. Didn’t stand in line for an autograph or anything, but I saw him at the end of the line.

So for the goodies, I managed to get my hands on a few things that I wanted to get. First thing I found was a Transformers Lanyard strap thingy. Didn’t really need it but it was cool, so I figured why not. The next purchase was the Jazwares Minecraft Enderman. I’ve been looking for one of those for a while so I was pretty happy to get my hands on it. I’ll be doing a full review of it in the near future so look out for that one.

The third buy was something I wasn’t expecting to see but glad I got, the Monster Hunter Illustrations 2 art book. Now I’m a sucker for a good book and an even bigger sucker for an art book. Toss some Monster Hunter in on that and it’s a super insta-buy for me. This thing is nice and hefty and contains concept art, and sketches for Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, Monster Hunter Tri and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. There is a lot of good stuff in here so I’m gonna be flipping through this for quite a while.

On my way out I managed to spend my last bit of money on two transformers from the Prime/Arms Micron line, Rumble and Frenzy. Regardless of which is which colour, they are two pretty cool little transformer cars, and a perfect example of the differences between the Japanese and American lines. So those guys will get a review too.

So yeah, that was the Calgary Expo. Was really glad that I got out there and I hope to be back out there again next year… And this time I promise I’ll be better with taking pictures.
